3D DESIGNING SOFTWARE

Models for 3D printing can be created using three basic methods. Models may be created using Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Modelling (CAM) packages, via a 3D scanner, or even by using a combination of plain digital camera and photogrammetry software. 3D printed models created with CAD result in reduced errors and can be corrected before printing. Following mentioned CAD software are the most popular and freely downloadable.

SLICING SOFTWARE

Cura for Thrimana

Once completed, the STL file needs to be processed by a piece of software called a “Cura for Thrimána“ specially developed slicing software for Thrimána series, which converts the model into a series of thin layers and produces a GCode file containing instructions tailored to 3D printer. This G-code file can then be printed with 3D printing client software (which loads the GCode, and uses it to instruct the 3D printer during the 3D printing process). Note: There are 2 versions
